ServiceNow University is an AI-powered playground for learning that gives you access to a full range of training content, certifications, badges, and hands-on activities. Jump in and level up into your ServiceNow career!
2. Click Start Learning > Sign up

Important: You must use the same email address exactly as provided to your instructor or Campus Leader. If emails do not match, you will not receive access or lab instance extensions for the duration of your class which can result in losing your instance and data.
Your first and last name in ServiceNow University must match your government ID if taking a proctored certification exam.
3. Confirm your email address

Check your spam folder if you do not receive this email.
Once registered, go to the Assigned tab in My Learning Playlist to find the courses assigned as part of your class, program, or event.
1. Click Assigned within My Learning Playlist to find the content your instructor will be teaching.

Important: If courses do not appear here after your course or program start date, search for the course in the search bar. Select the on demand version rather than instructor-led and ensure you enroll in the version (Xanadu, Yokohama, etc.) your instructor assigns. Lab instances will not extend if you enroll in a different version.
2. Click Start

If you took the course previously, unenroll from the in progress course and then search for it by name from the homepage to access the correct release version. Failure to do this could result in taking the wrong version of the course.
Please also request a new lab instance if you enroll in an updated course version.
3. Click In Progress within My Learning Playlist to return to your course(s) in the future.

Lab instances are real ServiceNow platform environments with demo data that allow hands-on practice. The steps you'll take to complete each lab are typically noted within a corresponding eBook.
1. Request an Instance

Request your instance(s) before the first day of class or after your campus event as it may take several hours to configure.
Instances are configured specifically for each ServiceNow University course. DO NOT use a different course’s instance for another course’s lab exercises.
Do not terminate and request new instances unless necessary as there are limits to the number of instance requests each person can make in ServiceNow University
2. Instance Extension & Termination
Instances will automatically extend to the end of your class or semester in most cases and will terminate 7 days after your course hits 100% complete. Please capture any work needed in the instance before termination.
If you have an instance from a previous course or semester, be sure to unenroll in the course and search for the latest version from the homepage. Please also request a new instance to ensure you have the correct version.

Important (for classes/programs): Reach out to your instructor if the lab instance expiration date is prior to your class or program end date. Click Request Expiry Extension if needed in the interim to avoid losing data and progress
3. Wake Up Instance
Labs go into hibernation after periods of inactivity. You may need to ”wake up” your instance, which takes ~10-15 minutes.
Tip: Wake up your instance in advance if you plan to use it in class.

Clear your browser cache if your instance appears to not be waking up. Sometimes you just need to close the browser tab and click the "Open My Instance" button again.
Open a case in the ServiceNow University Help Center if you are having issues with your instance. The Get Help tab explains this process.
Some courses include eBooks, which include course content with hands-on lab instructions. eBooks are stored in the Inkling Library, which you will receive access to via email.
1. Enroll in the course and click Book Help

After enrolling in the course (see Enroll in Courses tab), click the Book Help section which includes Inkling access information.
2. Claim eBook

Watch for an email which includes your username and temporary password for the Inkling Library where eBooks are stored.
3. Go to Library > All Documents to find your book or search by course name.

Forgot your Inkling username or password? Use this link to resend the welcome email or reset your password.
