QUESTIONS?

Frequently asked questions

Absolutely not. Most Campus Leaders start with zero ServiceNow knowledge — that's expected and encouraged. You'll learn alongside your peers by completing the Welcome to ServiceNow and ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals courses before your first event. Your role is to be an enthusiastic bridge between ServiceNow and students, not a technical expert. We provide presentation materials, talking points, and resources. When technical questions come up that you can't answer, simply direct students to the ServiceNow Community or ServiceNow University to look for answers.
Submit your event idea through our Campus Leader Event Support Request form at least 4 weeks before your preferred date. We'll review it and provide feedback, materials, and confirm any speaker requests. As long as you keep us in the loop well in advance, we should be able to help make your event successful!
First, remember that quality matters over quantity. We've found the most successful Campus Leaders start with smaller, targeted events (promoting through specific classes or student organizations) rather than campus-wide blasts. If turnout is lower than expected, treat it as a focused workshop where you can give more personalized attention. We're here to help you improve promotion strategies for your next event, and most Campus Leaders see attendance grow as they build momentum throughout the semester.
Yes! When you submit your event proposal, you can request a ServiceNow mentor or professional to join virtually (or in-person if local). We try to accommodate speaker requests for larger events when possible. Just give us ~4 weeks notice so we can search for volunteers and coordinate schedules. For smaller events like study groups or certification bootcamps, you typically won't need a guest speaker — the focus should be hands-on learning.
Start promoting 2 weeks before your event through multiple channels: post in relevant class forums & Discord servers, partner with student organizations (CS club, business fraternity, etc.), ask professors to make brief announcements, and table in high-traffic areas during lunch. Don't forget a day-of reminder a few hours before the event. The most effective strategy is personal outreach — mention the event to classmates and friends individually. Emphasize the "free certification worth $350+" and "boost your resume" angles, which resonate strongly. Our team can help you with all this if you give us enough notice.
The Career Journeys tab in ServiceNow University is always a good starting point. Students can click "Get a Recommendation" on this page to take a quiz and help guide them toward courses that might be of interest based on their major. Every student should start with the Welcome to ServiceNow course before they dive into specific content. The ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals course leads to the Certified System Administrator (CSA) exam and Application Development Fundamentals leads to the Certified Application Developer (CAD) exam.
Yes. You have access to official ServiceNow logos, brand colors, and pre-made templates through the Campus Leaders resource site. You can use these on flyers, social media posts, and presentation slides for your campus events. Just follow the simple brand guidelines we provide (use approved color combinations, don't alter logos, etc.). If you want to create something custom beyond the templates, send us a draft first and we'll help make it work.
Life happens, and we understand academic priorities shift. The baseline expectation is 2 events per semester, but we're flexible. If you're hitting a busy period (midterms, job search, family situation), just communicate with us early. You can space events out, do more in one semester and fewer in another, or take a semester off if needed. What's most important is hosting quality events when you do have capacity, not burning yourself out. If you need to step back permanently, just let us know so we can bring someone in to pick up where you left off.
Try this: "ServiceNow is like the operating system for how companies work. You know how businesses use hundreds of different apps that don't talk to each other? ServiceNow connects everything from IT to HR to customer service, so work flows smoothly. It's used by 85% of Fortune 500 companies, and those companies need people who know the platform. You can learn it and get certified through ServiceNow University for free. It's normally $350-$500 for a certification but free to you, which is a real differentiator on your resume."
Absolutely list it to showcase your leadership experience, but please note that as this is a volunteer position, we cannot tag ServiceNow as your employer. Here's suggested language: "ServiceNow Campus Leader | Organized [X] educational events reaching [Y] students, promoting enterprise technology skills development and career readiness through ServiceNow University platform." You should note any specific accomplishments like attendance numbers, certifications earned by attendees, or partnerships you built. You will also receive a badge in ServiceNow University at the end of the year to highlight on your LinkedIn profile.
